Faisons court, faisons simple : c'est l'une des 100 plus belles chansons que je connaisse. Mon critère? l'émotion...

@unprevarication I AGREE COMPLETELY! sorry my friends dont really get that, but you nailed it man/lady! take a look at spiritualized-perhaps not 'technically' talented but emotional raw and intoxicating.

Quite simply, Low's Death of a Salesman is one of the most poignant and haunting songs ever written. I salute you Alan Sparhawk for your melancholy brilliance and subtle innuendo. This song speaks to me in a way that I cannot convey with words, and for this I thank you.

Wow, their stuff is just darker and harsher than it was.

More inspired or excited than taken over by it, but I see what you mean... Peas...

@LunaSeaSane - Well, not to put too fine a point on it, but you're telling me that you both respect and enjoy music, but have never been intoxicated by it? ...Peace...

LunaSeaSane

Yes, yes to convince the public... I dislike the comparison because unlike music, beer is something that can get you intoxicated.

@LunaSeaSane - I don't think that it is inaccurate to say that "**SOME** say that a musician is only a beer salesman". I know some fine musicians that say that. The quality of the music has nothing to do with it, it is more the quality of the person who does or does not say it and actually means it. To me, almost all music is a quality thing - fine expressions of what is inside the writer and performer.

Inacurate remark. That clearly depends on the quality of the music.

Everyone knows that some say that a musician is just a beer salesman, right?

I like how this video opened with the chair in the middle of the stage the way the play does.

im proud to say that this video was recorded at my school. that space is gone now, it was made into a theater a couple of years ago. not a lot of people know about it, but now we have open mic nights in almost the same spot as he's playing.

I am speechless, once again. Thank you, Low.

I remember forcing myself to learn this song immediately after hearing the album, and then playing it at coffee houses. It perfectly summed up how I felt. Music is a great way to express yourself, but there's no promise that anyone else will understand or appreciate what you have to say.

Wasn't the play's main idea that nobody should "follow" the "American dream" because it leads to unfulfillment and is just an empty husk of materialism? I always thought Miller used Loman to warn his audience that the "American dream" isn't and should never be about that house or car, but something of personal value each of us sees fit to pursue.

I hope Alan and Mimi Sparhawk never feel this way, we love their music, and it's important to express yourself.
