Track 7. Disc 2: The Alternate version of one of the best songs on the original album. Much more slower and bluesy and sleezy.

I love love this period of the Stones; it's my fervent hope that Mick can rediscover his raw, primal vocals rather than try and pass himself of as a polished "singer". God what a great fucking band; mind-boggling, reslky--

This isn't the real "Drunk Version" of the song though. The original outtake that you can get on the Black Box bootlegs has the original vocals, which are much better than these new ones that Mike overdubbed for the Remaster release. Hunt it down folks, and you'll agree with me after you find it. lol

Is it just me, or is the alternate version better than the one on the album (a good song in its own right)?

Oh wow this is so nitty gritty!

Way better with Mick Taylor free to roam his guitar!! Keith had a habit of erasing his licks off of final cuts of songs, envy is such a shame!

You always hear people say "I like this version better" on the alternate takes. Well...I like this version better.

I think I like this version slightly better. It has that certain Stones melancholy to it that only they can roll with. Also I like that the guitar is right up front with those tasty licks. Plus I've also liked Charlie's drumming.

I'm not sure which version I like better, This is much rawer but I miss the horns and Nicky Hopkins Charlie Brown piano intro from the original.
