Louis Armstrong (pops) was the greatest influence on American Music in the 20th century. If you look at some of the great artists like Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and countless others, their musical influences can be traced back to Armstrong. This country was founded on black music -- you can deny it -- debate it -- or flat out reject it, but that is a fact. Racial prejudice kept many talented black artists away from the white mainstream population. Blacks could not get their music heard with the exception of jukeboxes and juke joints that catered to black patrons. As a result of this racial stupidity, the American public denied itself some of the greatest talent of its time -- when these artists were in their prime. What a waste...
