No copyright infringement intended. Neither do I own the rights to the original song.

I only uploaded this song because i know there should be plenty of ppl like me trying to find a version without the show's original audio and since it was really hard to get, im sharing it with you guys.

On this version you can actually hear the song's ending lyrics. Have a nice day.

P.S. First video i edit and upload to youtube EVER, so.. hope i didnt mess it up.

P.S.2 English is not my native language so ignore any mispelling.

Such a sad but beautiful song. Listened to it again and again.

Ah, the versatility! From the humor of "Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road" to the haunting beauty of an old man's reflections in Carrickfergus.

I am a big Loundon Wainwright fan, Im 99 % Sure the Carrickfergus song is not related to Carrickfergus in Co Antrim, Its a small townland in Southern Ireland. Anybody like to comment?

Such a beautiful song and I am the farthest thing to being Irish. But the song itself transcends me through Ireland and her people's history (the little bit that I read about.) And tells me about their struggles (Irish racism in the United States, potato famine) their pain (Black Sunday) and ultimately their pride of having pulled through regardless of all the hardships. Much respect to the Irish.

No shame in finding great music via TV shows .... musicians can get a bit precious about this. I'd never heard this song before watching Boardwalk Empire and so the LWIII version was the first I experienced. Since listened to countless others. . None beats LWIII in my opinion.

Almost every time I listen to music on YouTube, the top comment will be something to effect of - "Thumbs up if you heard this song on ...(insert name of TV show)..." As a musician I find this frustrating. Most of it is not even "new music", in many cases, it's old and has been around for ages but only gets acknowledged as "good" when some mass-media corporation is able to use that particular music to their own commercial advantage. The general public is too easily moulded & influenced by TV.

Bitch about it some more. If you actually watch it in context with the show, the song enhances the feeling of the end of the episode. And who cares if someone heard the song because of a show. It's not them needing TV to tell them what to listen to, it's just one way that people discover new music.

I have a question. When he say: I would support her. Who he is talking about?

When i uploaded it, it used to be in perfect sync. to the lyrics and remained that way for a year and a half, i dont know what changed on the youtube format that caused the desync. and honestly i dont feel like reuploading it again
