I hope Gillian made a bunch of money for this. This version butchers it though. Not the same level of talent there.

Ugh. Her voice is incredibly nasally and just completely GRATING. I don't know why she bothered to cover this, because she's butchering it.

Terrible. You can tell by how she sings it, she doesn't know what it means. She doesn't know that feeling. It is just words on a page to her.

One of my favorite songs at the moment (originally done by Gillian Welch, but couldn't find a non-live video of her version).

It's too bad Miranda Lambert Co-wrote 11 out of 12 songs on her first album, and wrote all 4 singles on her second as well as many other songs on that album. Her 3rd and I believe latest solo album she co-wrote most of them, which was a much more cooperative album. By cooperative I mean she featured quite a few other stars, including her new hubby, Blake Shelton, who helped with the writing. She's quite original when she wants to be, she's beautiful, and she has a very sexy voice...in my opinion

This is the first time I've heard this song. Loved this version. I'm sure that if I heard this Gillian lady ... I'd love hers too.

She shounds so much like Alison Krauss in this song, such raw and beautiful voices!

@dunbarzack If you don't know it already, search for the BBC4 Sessions live version. Blows the album version away (especially Dave Rawling's playing)

I love Karen Fairchild's and Kinberly Schlapman's (the girls from Little Big Town) background vocals. They just add something to the song.

Listening to this version just makes me want to hear Gillian's voice all the more. Lambert is good, but, no Gillian Welch!
