Lonnie Gordon - Happening All Over Again (Original UK Single video free download

1993 saw the crumbling of SBK records and the fumbling of yet another SAW/PWL masterpiece in its attempt to crack the American market.

Originally intended for Donna Summer's aborted follow-up to "Another Place & Time", Lonnie makes it her own and in turn created an underground club smash and pop misfire that deserves another look.

It really does sound like a donna summer track around the 'another place and time' era. It's just a shame that the song wasn't reworked to make it sound like one of lonnie's own. It's a good dance number and lonnie has a great voice but i can't get rid of the thought that it's a donna summer track with someone else's vocals.

Love the song.  Lonnie did a good enough job on the track but can you imagine how Donna Summer would have delivered this one?  I would have loved her to do another S/A/W album.  Such a pity it never happened and will never happen again. :-(

Sweet song, that reminds me the summer of 1990.

The original single version was released in the UK in 1989, with various mixes to follow in 1990 from mixmasters Pete Hammond and Phil Harding of PWL fameat the time..The song was then released again 1993 on Lonnie's album Bad Mood, with some further mixes that were soon to follow.

Music is such an emotional and personal thing. The 80ies and 90ies were in general our happiest times due to relative economic stability and relative peaceful times. This was expressed in music and back then it was ALL about the music and less about a finely tuned marketing ploys. Looks and packaging seem more important today than content. It's a dire affair....

oh yes, and what about Sonia's "You'll Never Stop Me Loving You" Rosala's "Everybody's free to feel good"...and so many others... i remember me dancing till the end...taken high just by the music, happy and "gay as the day" too,- or even "...the night", who cares, why not! hehe... The best time of my life! (we might have shared the same feelings at the very same time, in very distant places, obviously there must have been some sort of karma there!)
