I have been searching for this for years, the first time I heard it was on either Luxembourg or Radio 1 ,it wasn't until I learnt to use a computer 5 years ago that I could find it. I remembered some of the words but not the artist. I am 62 and so happy now x

His aversion to slick pop productions, yes. But Long John should have been proud of this record. Composed by Mike D'Abo no less! Who also did Handbags and Gladrags, which became Chris Farlowe's best recording effort. 'When the sun' is certainly a lot better than Baldry's former hits Let The Heartaches Begin and Mexico. A pity 'Sun' bombed. Would be an excellent concert item, too. I noticed Labelle and the Strawbs recorded it as well.
