It's ok, but compared to the rest of the album and all the other songs, it's not the best really. but I still love this song better than any of todays music.

I dont know, after a good ten 10 songs of heavy metaphor and introspection, this one seems to fit in to the album as a nice break..Growing up in virginia and then moving to canada makes the whole "long-distance drunk" thing kinda reverberate for me. I imagine while on tour buddy was calling old friends from his hometown and the song was birthed out of that experience. its about futility of trying to remain connected with friends from the past using the telephone.I dig what you're saying though.

Dude just look at the title. That alone tells you how witty this song is

Well, I apologize for being a bit rude in my response. But still, this is a monotonous, repetitive filler song on an album that contains a number of varied, innovative songs with real emotional resonance. Also, IB's lyrics are often very "introspective," and usually full of wit and metaphors. This song displays none of his talent for any of that. FWIW, I did not come to this video to flame. I just feel that your comment is as close to objectively wrong as an opinion about music can be.

Man, I respect your opinion, but I truly think this is one of their most original compositions. Modest Mouse have created a lot of great songs and melodies, but few captivating and introspective moments at the same level of 'Long Distance Drunk'.

Sorry, but to call this one of Modest Mouse's best songs is pretty much a parody of inane youtube comments.

i dont know why i know this, but i believe it's nicole johnson. i know she sings on some older modest mouse songs, i think some one told me that. sleepwalking. some other songs.

One of the best MM songs, and their best album for sure.

This song doesn't have a driving, back-and-forth beat. I mean, there's some percussion hidden in there, but I like said, it doesn't create a discernible beat. Therefore, this song is without a backbone, forcing it to eerily meander through all that folksy indie twang stuff. And I love it

I bumped this heavily during my week-long vicodin withdrawal. Year and a half clean now, and I have Isaac Brock's fantastic songwriting to thank. :3
