Long beach dub allstars don't sound exactly like Sublime but they sound very similar. every member (bud, eric, marshal, ras, opie, tim, maness, ikey, miguel, and foreman) was either friends with Brad or contributed to Sublime in some way. They started the band in tribute to brad. at first they only played sublime covers, and even in their last days still played a good bit of sublime covers at their shows. and they did pick opie to sing because he sounded very close to brad. do your research

well most everyone from long beach has a similar accent, so that's part of it ... and if you listen to enough sublime and lbdas then you won't even think brad and opie sound alike anyway
