AMEN! You won't hear this today. Wish we just go back to when people really SANG real words that touch the heart instead of the filth they play today.

Have you thought about getting yourself an equalizer. Most of your uploads need one. Something not quite right about the mid to upper frequencies and too little bass.

Cont: The vocal on Lonely Drifter was delivered with every bit as raucous, and self debasing impudence as a “Louie Louie”, or as that used by "Rage Against the Machine" decades later. Oh the insolence of youth. What an attitude conveyed in that vocal! How shallow the music industry must have seemed to them at the time. John's musical arrangement merged together with his campy, tongue-n-cheek vocal delivery took the shallowness of the consuming public to another level. I still love their work.

I was a big fan of this band. I always had a sense that the two "break away" Medallions members who left & formed the "Pieces Of Eight" must have been immediately missed by their former band mates and label. I also felt they must have had quite a sense of humor as well. To even consider recording “Lonely Drifter” took audacity! Lonely Drifter features one of my favorite vocal performances EVER. Plus, one hell of an ambitious arrangement and production effort as well! Continued

@pete49327 We used to stay at Edgewater Gulf Beach something or other, cheapest place in town. Hurricanes destroyed it years ago. I can't think of the whole name. I'll probably have a flash back about it tonight.LOL

@ronhawk62 Thanks ronhawk. BTW, if you do a youtube search of Panama City Hangout there's an old video of the joint from that era. God I miss the old P.C. of my youth before the high rise condo infestation took root. Give me Peek's Beach and other mom and pop low rise motels any day!

@pete49327 I think it was called The Beach Club, lots of years and lots of beers since then.

@ronhawk62 Oh yea, I remember them too now playing in P.C. I think they played in an old building very close to the Hang Out? It was definitely the late 60's as you say. Great memories.

Without a doubt, what's played on the radio today sucks. There's nothing played that one can call a good sound. Please young buck's and fawns of today, sing Doo-Wop, the greatest sounding music to one's ear.

Those idiots in radio never knew how to program and never will. They keep playing with charts and out of town programmers that don't know shit about our locations and what we like. That's why in 1979 I made the break into TV plus the money is a lot better.

when the so called "classic rock" shit started, i noticed my favs were not being played. i called the dickheads to find out why. they told me that they took quota count to find the most popular songs. my reply? u didnt ask me.
