Like @rudypeni mentioned, these are Death Rockers, which back in my day in the mid 80's was a facet of the Goth scene. DR's were more into vinyl and new black clothing and industrial music whilst the rest of the Goths were more romantic, into velvet and lace vintage, favoring Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, etc. Often the two groups clashed a bit. Now we were all big on taking pix in graveyards LOL but as for this whole jumping out from tombstones thing, I think that was a shock value moment.

Deathrock is still a used term :) it's actually what my icon means (United States Deathrock). It was definitely more prominently used in Cali back in the late 70s/early 80s but the term has survived and there are newer bands that use the term. The deathrock bands have always had a punkier sound which I enjoy so I keep up with it best I can to find new bands. I'd be happy to share some bands if you're interested :D I see you're a RP fan which is badass.

sorry jacob you lost me at "as a goth blah blah blah" you must be young. although media as always exploited any youth cult that comes around. Does anyone remember the term Deathrocker or was that more of a So. Cal thing during the early 80's in LA, I always liked that term a little more because goth seemed to femmy for me as a kid and the music and bands I was in.

strange the reporter talks about gothics as somethin' new in 1987!!! They've been around, i guess, since 1979, when Bauhaus released Bela Logusi's dead. Isn't that so?

Yeah... I'm always creepin' round some gravestones when it's full moon... NOT! That's so cliché. But you cannot stop people talking shit or making themselves (and others) look ridiculous.

@disgorge1234 No it's not... Though goth is A Germanic tribe an gothic is A style of Midevil cathedral an Victorian Architecture both goth an gothic is the same sub culture an it refers to the germanic tribe an the kind of Architecture... When Talking About Sub Cultures goth is this short for gothic.

Yeah, I remember Wilf and his girlfriend doing the cloakroom at the Electric Ballroom too, and Screaming (Shaun) walking about the Ballroom with his walking stick :-)

These goths were far too over dramatic. I wish they'd picked someone else to interview.
