Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb tuning, this is the new intro/outro to One Step Closer that's been played live since the summer of 2008, both are based around the bridge riff. Mike and Brad play the same thing in both places, except Brad joins Mike later in the intro, so I played Mike's part.
Also, since I was playing along to the Road to Revolution CD, I decided to play the transition and intro to From the Inside too. I didn't really explain the FTI live intro too well in my old "Misc. Live Intros/Interludes" video, so I decided to play it here.

I think I like the 2007 one a little better because it incorporates the original intro riff. Starting One Step Closer without hearing some form of its "signature riff" just doesn't feel right to me.11 years ago

@EminemFan1fan It's an RG3EX1QM, which I believe was a Guitar Center-exclusive model. You can find the same model with a flame top (RG3EX1FM) at a lot of other places, but I never saw the quilted-top model anywhere else. I love RGs, hate the Floyd Rose/Edge series trems on most of them though, so it took me a while to find a good one with a fixed bridge.13 years ago

@cjbackus3 If you'd take 2 seconds to read my profile, you'd know that I NEVER "look up tabs online." I guarantee you won't find a tab for Mike's part of the 2008 live version of One Step Closer on Ultimate-Guitar or any other tab site, and even if you did, it would be nowhere near this accurate. Check the link in the video description - the tabs I link to are my own transcriptions that I've done completely from scratch, and my videos are merely a visual accompaniment to them.13 years ago

Assuming I had no life and time to play a 5 minute song to show off that I can look up a tab online like this huge deal. Also, you can pick any 10 guitar covers of a Linkin Park song on Youtube, and more often than not, 9 of them will totally suck, and the one non-shitty one will probably be by one of 3 people - lpmitch, Goshikas, or myself.
