Guitar tabs for the live version of Faint can be downloaded here: http://www.lplive.net/astat/Guitar_tabs/Live/Meteora_Live/

Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb tuning, this is the new live ending to Faint that LP's been doing since the MTM touring cycle began. Brad's part includes a solo...which quite honestly, I think is a bit overrated. All it is is a tremolo-picked run up a Db minor scale, with a major 7th thrown in at the beginning just to create a little extra tension, and then a few notes that ring out at the end. My biggest gripe about this is that Brad actually plays the entire fast scale run on ONE STRING! What kind of professsional guitar player plays a scale run on one string?! This solo can actually be played without shifting your hand position at all...but eh, I digress. I guess I shouldn't pick on Brad so much since he's new to the whole solo thing. Anyway, after the solo, he plays the same ending part that Mike does, except he deliberately hits the open Bb and Eb strings on top of the D5 chord just to create some dissonance.

I played the solo a tad sloppy, mainly on the last bit of the tremolo picked part, the frets get really close together that high up the neck and my fingers got sandwiched a bit for a split second, but I figured this was a good enough take to upload. I played it the way Brad does...it doesn't match the way he plays it on this particular performance exactly, but he never really plays this the same way twice.

I play it exactly how I have it tabbed...totally routine octave shapes on the 3rd and 5th strings.

@Toddstikels He uses Tortex picks (with custom LP logos on them), but I don't think they're wedges, the wedges have a much wider top and from the examples of his stage-used picks I've seen over the years, none of them are like that.

@GetRockMusic I use a 2.0 mm Dunlop pick (the dark purple Tortex ones) for stuff with tremolo picking in it like this, I find that thicker picks make it easier for me.

I've looked at a few, but they were all still out the range of what I could afford at the time. The best deal I've come across on one so far was like $1300 for a used CE 24.

Ever thought of buying a second hand PRS?

I've used 6 different guitars in my videos...7 if you count that I used my Yamaha in the couple lesson videos I've done. The only usable guitar I've ever owned and not used in a video was my Epiphone doubleneck, which I sold over the summer. And no, I don't have a PRS, considering a PRS costs more than my car did.

In Pieces is alright, it's nothing groundbreaking but it shows enough skill to warrant respect. Brad isn't overrated at all, nobody ever brings him up in discussions of "good guitarists" outside of devoted Linkin Park fans (most of which honestly don't listen to many actual "good" guitar players).
