Thanks for posting this MAGICAL song that brings back so many nostalgic memories of the 1960s/1970s London and the rest of the UK., then the world. As a young Hippy Generation, then, we wanted to unite the world and rid the world of WARS, ARMS, GREED, POVERTY, etc. Apparently, we failed. But I bet all of us of that Generation still believe and hold the same principles of true humanity totally devoid of Racial and Religious Prejudice, for we all belonged to one RACE only, and that was THE HUMAN RACE. By 2015, the World had gone in totally different direction from what we started from in the 1960s. Then again, and sadly, this is THE FATE OF THE HUMAN RACE; i.e heading for the direction of SELF-DESTRUCTION.

Pretty sure I was named Eleanor after this song. My parents were hippies at heart

Excellent, song and players have matured with age. I can kind of feel something go up and down my spine listening to this. :-)

great version and oh man, the pictures of Tyneside in the 70s - the scene of my long lost youth - this exiled heart aches

Such a haunting song. I've liked this song since first hearing it in the mid 70's when a British pen pal sent me a Lindisfarne tape. If you're reading this, hello Julie Douglass (then of Drover's Cottage, Newcastle) from Rick in Canada. Thanks for the music!

Bollocks to Simon Cowell and any other empty vessels, blood sucking parasites, faceless corporate whores and media dahhlings, pop wannabes, essex tanners, fuck em all. I'm going back to the land of the dancing dead with my skateboard, where's the nearest Tree Fair?? God help us all.
