Dylan stole the first line of this song. I prefer Delta/country blues to Chicago blues. There were so many great performers but Sam is my favorite, and then there is everybody else. Great licks on his guitar. Can hear Robbie Krieger. There is a very cool documentary called The Blues According to Lightin' Hopkins. Luckily he made so many recordings so there is plenty to listen to.

Just like "NoRosesForMe", this was the 1st song I heard from him, in this version. Had the CD stolen back in the 90's, been looking for it ever since! His other versions PALE in comparison, to this one. Thanks for posting this!

This was one of the first Lightnin songs I remember hearing ,,,AND,,,you posted the version I had as a kid. The original was just Lightnin solo. No backing band. @BaguaChannel, I've been listening to Mr. Lightnin' since 1967, Found an album in a record shop in a northern Ontario gold mining town. Been hooked ever since. Although I love so many of his songs, I find this one to be my favorite...thank you so much for sharing it.
