This is not Maynard an there is no one from tool in this band... The original bass player from tool is in the band but none of the current members... After listening to the EP several times through, I can say that I enjoy the sound. The emotional range could use some diversity though. Perhaps the next EP/LP could have an angry song, a sad song, a jaded song, an ecstatic, and a few contemplative, instead of every song being objective thought, like how this one feels. The band is great, and I have no doubt as to their technical skills, but one must connect with it on a more basic emotional spectrum before launching into intense philosophical discussion.It's like friendship; you don't discuss philosophical ideals with someone you just met, you save that stuff for after you've established an emotional connection and friendship. Sumerian, please pass this critique on to the band.That all being said, it's still damn good, and I'll buy it. 11 years ago
