To re-do this Mountain masterpiece, decades later, without Felix Papalardi on vocals would have been a travesty in anyone else's hands. Leslie West, the only one alive fit to sing Felix's song, does so with the grace and respect necessary to convey the kind of emotions Felix demonstrated on this masterpiece.The original "For Yasgur's Farm" by Mountain, is a much, much better theme for Woodstock than the great Joni Mitchell written, CSN performed, defacto theme.

It would be hard for anyone to replace Felix's vocal treatment of this one. Every concert or gig Leslie plays, he acknowledges his best friend at some point in the show and it's hard to think he doesn't think about him when he's singing Felix's parts. Especially in this song which speaks so much to their friendship as well as "the age" of "Yasgur's Farm".

Oh puhleeze Leslie...if you can no longer sing it...then let it be..but don't make it what it never was. I got the guitar stuff but hey...this was song for an age and it should be the anthem to that moment in time...not a Hendrix lick fest!.
