i found this 45 once for a dollar. great production and her voice had matured so much at this point, wow! wonderful song. hate that they didn't release the LP at the time.

The vocals on this song are kinda overdone and cheesy sounding.I think there's an earlier version that's less like that.

Lesley Gore is so underrated for what she contributed to the 60s music..you could turn on the radio without hearing her, dusty springfield, pertula clark, the supremes the four seasons and of course the beatles..but Ms Gore was definately riding high \ in the early 60s and what a voice..modonna, miley cyrus..britney spears or amy whitehouse None can match the passion and fire of Lesley in her prime.

The album Magic Colors was never was shelved by Mercury Records due to California Nights (the single) doing much better on the charts than Magic Colors. Mercury decided to release an album titled California Nights hoping to cash in on the single's popularity. The complete album of Magic Colors can is including on the Bear Family Records 5-cd collection.

Lesley's TV special, Lesley In Love, was broadcast in New York around 1968(?). Two of the sponsors were Almond Joy and the Monsanto Company. I have never seen it.
