French guitarband Les Mustangs, backing group of French rock'n'roll singer Billy Bridge. "Drums" was written and produced by Mickey Baker, the well-known American r&b guitarist. In 1962, Mickey Baker relocated to Paris
Line-up: François Rolland (lead gt.), Jacques Logel (rhythm gt.), Michel Souillac (bass gt.) and Aldo Sciortino (drums.
Clip and pics are from the collection of Jean-François Rolland (son of the lead guitarist).

Very heavy Shadows influence here, I like the song. The Ventures, Shadows, Fireballs and Duane Eddy were my first influences in guitar instrumentals. I've heard some very good groups from the Netherlands, Japan, Philippines and of course US surf bands too many to name. Los Straitjackets as a modern group would stand out and The Astronauts as well from the sixties. Some of Dick Dales music was good but not all, I found him to be quite arrogant personally.10 years ago
