I wish I could see Colm & Alfie live. The others are good, but there's something about those two... Send shivers down my spine.

Colm Wilkinson is the "elder looking guy" and the man who originated the role! These men are all wonderful vocalists but Colm has a quality to his voice the others do not have...it's really as simple as that. This was certainly not meant to be a competition of which man can give this song the justice it deserves, and it's only natural there would be comparisons made, however, if you take a moment to listen and watch him in this YouTube video: "Colm Wilkinson - Bring Him Home (Les Misérables) [720p] by engchi93on " It has a 3:53 song length. It IS truly fabulous. What he brings is not only his expertise as an accomplished vocalist...all of them are accomplished! Colm brings all the humanity of the role and incorporates that man into his voice. While the others are all technically sound and elegant, his is all that...with the extra twist of humanity. After all, it is a role that is sung and he is Jean Val Jean....singing his part.

Wow... it must be so amazing to sing and be with those who played the same role as you. They have such a deep level of love and respect for this character - a level which only *THEY* can achieve by playing the role - and it's reflected in how they treat and interact with one another! As a bonus, we don't only have the original Valjean performing, but also the original Marius!I personally love the fact that there are three Phantoms on the stage! And Alfie's successor - Ramin Karimloo - is also one! They're so awesome I will just die of fangirl feels!

I thought it was John Owen-Jones on the right! Saw him on Broadway several years ago, twice. What a voice! When he sang this song, I cried.

I know Colm is the original, but he just ruined it with his shouting. All the other men are legit singers.

John's reaction when Colm begins to sing shows how much every Valjean, past and present supports, respects and get's excited about each other every time they sing. Respect these amazing men for their dedication!

You can really hear and feel that Colm created this role. He knows it inside and out :)

I can and do watch this over and over. It will be a classic performance forever. They all clearly share their love of this song and put so much passion and emotion into it. The atmosphere is electric. Other recordings of the solo performances of in particular Alfie and Colm are also magic.

Can't compare Alfie to Colm, two different styles, voices, training and ages. Colm was my favorite until I heard Alfie. I've never heard anything like Alfie Boe!
