The lyrics are great, but the music doesn't capture the vibe of Barrington. I just had a fleeting flashback and remember Grateful Dead music echoing through the hallways.

Obviously something, probably not what you describe.

@KaHabbful Oh and also if you youtube Barrington Hall you could find videos of it recorded around the time Les attended. After watching, you'll see it is quite OBVIOUS that it was no dope den. A sleu of intricate, psychadelic murals, quotes, & art spanning back three decades from the early 1960's had littered the entire grounds. In 1989 neighbors complained of wild (probably incredible, indescribable) parties. Now it is a private housing development or somthing and everything has been erased.

@KaHabbful Lol, Mrs. Reagan? I was not aware that she was a fellow psychonaut, but neverthess a cute and amusing notion. I didnt say you had NO expierence, I infered from your observation that "they are happy in the night, lethargic in the day" doesnt really sound like a psychedelic sounds like a dope house" demonstrated you just had not as much. Indeed, YMMV, and many people at Barrington in the 80's put a shit load of miles on themselves. Thus difference between you and Barrinton and I.

@Swigzabrewski Well overuse of anything will hurt you, Mrs. Reagan. Don't assume because someones interpretation is different that they simply have no experience. We live in a time when drugs are plentiful so I am not surprised you have done all of those drugs to excess. Doesn't mean that everyone who does them has that same experience you did with them. YMMV

@KaHabbful It was a den of a cocktail of drug assortments...Ive tripped on acid, mescaline, mushrooms, dxm, and dmt, scores of times for each. I've also indulged in these excesses for prolonged peoriods of time. When you do em' often enough for long enough, it catches up with you and can weigh you down for daaaays afterwards. I'm guessing your either still young in age or experience

A very faint Residents sound here. Like it could have been taken off Not Available

this song more reminds me of heroin/alcohol dens. i have tripped many times but this song just doesnt seem like it is about that. "they are happy in the night, lethargic in the day" doesnt really sound like a psychedelic- sounds like a dope house. no one remembers because they were too screwed up. he even mentions opiates and wine.....
