Produced & arranged by the legendary Leroy Burgess, a solid 80s club groover & mover, nicely mixed by Shep Pettibone, on the Salsoul label from 1983

We had and still have a very active music production scene over here! Some classics from back in the day were from the UK, though the sheer amount of material that came out of New York is astounding. My fav Brit tune is probably David Joseph - You can't hide your love.

I hear you, groups like Heatwave, imagination, the System, ultra high frequency, yes I'm talking about the latter, and yes I'm 55 and this music takes me to a place like no other. We are blessed we enjoy this music even today. Thanks Leroy!!!!

Brotha!God bless ya life, and your voice,I remember when I was a kid,the first time I heard "Release Yourself",it changed my life,I am a R&B singer today, with fans all over to the world, and I am proud to say your vocal styling influenced me majorly along with the grooves, you are the first singer that I ever heard do dope vocal runs on track,I believe Charlie Wilson didnt even riff like that, and then the tone of your voice was so hip hop.you are truly gifted, keep the music street and funky 4life!

I wish what you said is true, but in Britain I NEVER hear any real funk/R&B/soul. In the USA I have heard a little more, still not much.
