I know I'm going to get jumped on for this, but Season 2 was SO MUCH BETTER than Season 1.  Some of the lines Frank had made me laugh until I cried-same with Ray.  Rachel McAdams just nailed it, and the guy who played Paul was just amazing.  His angst was just heartbreaking.  That final episode was utter perfection.  The shootout scene was amazing as well.  Now, for my question-in the last episode, they've got a tracker on Ray's car and he know he isn't going to make it to the boat.  What I cannot understand is why the hell he got out of the damn car!  And then takes a rifle (unsure of how many rounds 12?  But those suckers are heavy) and a handgun, again unsure of how many rounds in a clip but I'm guessing 12 (?) so he's facing I think 5 men with semi-automatics with who knows how much ammo and he's carrying a heavy rifle with 12 rounds and a handgun with a max of 24 rounds.  He's dead man.  Why the hell didn't he just keep driving?  If someone would answer this I'd appreciate it.  Also, did anyone else see Zeena put her knife in her boot when they were leaving the hotel room?  She knew Jordan wanted that baby and did anyone see Frank's main guy (I forget his name) was there with them?  It's a very, very quick shot but it's him.  I never liked Jordan.   And I do believe that Frank, Paul and Ray all wanted to be good men.  It just got away from them all.  Damn that season was amazing.

She did such an amazing job on the soundtrack. The fact that this song is about a corrupt cop facing death, who still has some care for integrity, is amazing: "Due dilligence... the only thing worth fighting for."People get all pissy about season 2 as if it wasn't awesome in every way (wtf!), but what they're missing is how the musicians, directors, cinematographers, actors, basically all the creative visionaries, absolutely fucking nailed the thematic vision of the creator. Just like season 1, it's not about plot so much as expressing ideas through atmosphere. First season used Townes Van Zandt to help with that, and the second did something similar with Lera Lynn.
