For real guys, I dont understand all the hating on this version, I mean, its not a bad cover, well executed and doesnt sound cheesy (on my opinion).T. Reznor made this a very personal (as anyone can see) song, so it did Cash and so it did Lewis.If this is my favorite cover, not really, but its not bad either...I believe that anyone who truly has been "hurt" and gets itself identified with the lyrics can, in some point, own the song... Hell if i was able to make a decent cover i would surely do it, so if any artist want to spread this beautiful piece of artistic pain for more people to get related to it and who knows, help in their lives as well, I dont see any problem about it...Just my opinion tho

Nine inch nails wrote a good song, a great sound. Johnny cash won awards for his interpretation and music video. Lewis dropped the ball on the history and lineage of such a moving and culturally significant song.

Her cover is closer to the original performance from NiN, as such can't really be compared to Cash - the legend makes every song his. But it's a decent rendition and technically sound. Only issue is the piano and a small pitch in her voice in the beginning. I personally think it's a good cover, the drums at 1:57 is a nice touch and it's around this mark it becomes her own version rather than an upscaled version of Trent Reznors.. I still love Cash the most though..

wow, i am at about 3 min. mark, headphones blasting my brains out, and i have to disagree with a lot of you. to be fair , i have loved her since the first time i saw or heard her. that being said, i like her version. i don't think it's as good as Trent's or Johny's version...(both of which I think are f'ing incredible) but i think she did good too. I think they all deserve credit for what they have done. and something else, i think anyone who is willing to spill their guts and let it rip could do a great job on this song. this song is all about pain and loss. piece people and share the love
