People have strange ideas of who Leon Redbone is and where he comes from. His birth name is Dickran Gobalian, who came to Canada from Cyprus in the mid-1960s, in his teens. He started performing around Toronto and first came to the general public's attention in the 1970's. How a teenager from Cyprus came to be a performing historian of american music I do not know.12 years ago
