Leo Soileau, like so many others in the early '30's was completely consumed by "string band music" and he started making records without his long-time accordionist partner Moise Robin. Instead, he used large "string bands" featuring many guitars, mamdolins, pianos, and even drums. This lead to a sort of "identity crisis" at that time because no one could tell "Cajun Music" from "Popular American Music". Sadly, we are in the same situation today because everybody wants bo be everybody else.
