I love it! In case anybody was interested: Camelot chose the name Lemuria because it was fabled to be a real continent, existing at the same time as Atlantis. And like Atlantis, Lemuria was destroyed and thousands of years later it was washed under the ocean. Lemuria was more supposed to be more technologically advanced that our present society and Atlantis was supposed to be more spiritually advanced, and the two continents may have even been at war with one another.
