I think Phil Nasseh missed the point of worship. Artists make music for what they believe in, just as you work for what you believe in or may draw or paint or whatever it is you do, you do it because you believe in it, whether right, wrong, or indifferent. Christ deserves ALL the glory for taking the sins of this world upon Himself on a roman cross over 2000 years ago. Artists like Lecrae, Tedashii, Bizzle, Sho Baraka, etc, etc, all rap for the glory of Christ the Father. Just as artists in the secular world rap about money, cars, women, drugs, sex, lies, etc, etc, that's because they believe that's what gives them happiness, although it be a false and empty happiness. I used to listen to secular music of many genres, and even though I accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior when I was 8, I still made worldly mistakes...big mistakes. But I knew that no matter what I did, no matter how big or little my sin was, that God was there to forgive me for what I did. These artists feel the same way, and that's why the rap or sing about Him, to glorify Him for what He has done, not just for them, but for the world! They do it to get their message out, and to show those in need that there is forgiveness and there is hope and a fulfillment in the Spirit that worldly things are just temporary, but the love of Christ if everlasting and wholesome. If you want TRUE fulfillment in this world, you seek Christ first, and I know this from experience. I used to be like these guys, even though I was a Christian, I still drank, had premarital sex, lied, misused the Lord's name in vain, and still I knew that I needed to turn back to true forgiveness and love, because I am a sinner, and I need salvation, just like these guys and gals singing/rapping for the Lord. Plain and simple, the writing is on the wall. Only you can decide for yourself what you know to be true, but I pray each of you that read this seeks to find the truth in His name, His love, and His purpose for you in this life.
