In part 1 of this video I showed you how to instantly transform ordinary chords into much more beautiful flamenco chords. Now we'll do the same with guitar scales.
Flamenco guitar uses the harmonic minor scale quite a lot including many of it's different modes. The major scale is also employed along with the natural minor and 1 mode in particular from the major scale - the phrygian mode.

By combining the harmonic minor with some Spanish guitar chords we can get a very authentic 'flamenco-esqe' happening instantly.

The minor harmonic works really good to add the andalusian arabic flavor to flamenco music, the minor harmonic resembles greatly old arabic scales. It's very used especially in the last bar of the flamenco chord progressions ( from where we get La nota de paso).10 years ago
