We all have a common problem, we focus on what is wrong, not what is right. So for a minute, let me change that up.I have been blessed enough to have seen the musical Miss Saigon - Musical twice. Once during the original run in London. I was in the Army, stationed in Germany and made the trip. I wish I could say that the entire trip was solely for seeing this fantastic musical, but the truth is that the tickets pretty much fell in my lap when I reached out to my favorite ticket broker in London. We saw it on New Year's Eve in London. So I automatically lose the right to complain about life right from that moment.Fast forward a few years (ok, make that 25 years), and Miss Saigon is enjoying a revival in London. Jenna Red Vines Robinson has since made her appearance in our lives, and lo and behold, she somehow inherits my love of the cultural and the Asian. Because I've been fortunate, I'm able to find a way to make the trek back to London, back to see this musical once again and pass along the joy to the next generation of Robinson. Josh C. Robinson also was able to make the trek, enabling him to see both versions as well.I've been a lifelong fan of the cultural. Miss Saigon, though, holds a special place in my heart. The story, the music, the actors, they all speak to me on a personal level. So this trip back wasn't just about seeing a great performance, it was more a journey of self discovery. Of trying to figure out why this resonated so much. But more importantly, to find out how and why this resonance was conveyed via DNA.As most quests of science, the question remained unanswered. But as poets remind, it was the journey, and not the destination, that made the difference. The performance was spot on, it had the same impact 25 years later. The startling thing that remained the same, though, was the tears that were shed privately and introspectively. Thank-you so much for the memories that were and the memories that will be.And yes, I still believe. Dad called me the incurable optimistic. In this case, I think that he was correct.

These two also provided for Princess Jasmine's singing voice. Lea in the first Aladdin, and Liz in the second.
