To close the eyes and soar with unburdened invisible angelic wings today I flew and skimmed the lower reaches of Heaven while I still live.

A great reminder that beautiful first class opera doesn't need to be elaborate productions in the great houses. Hooray for simple plywood sets with exquisite acting and singing. Productions like this will save opera from oblivion and bankrupcy.

i didn't realize until now that there is something magical about the way these two ladies are singing.  it reminds me of seeing two butterflies flying around each other in an intertwining pattern, into a vortex, ultimately becoming one; only to disengage into separate entities.  there is a lot of back and forth between two different voices but it is so seamless they meld into one.  i wish i had the musical background to adequately articulate what i am hearing.  but i am glad i am able to appreciate it.  pure genius.  and the voices are just pure gold.

Hey, it'd please me no end, if people really *did* discover Mozart's genius. Sadly, their interest in and knowledge of him invariably stops right there, and never goes any further than what Hollywood spoon feeds 'em. They just want to show off how well they can memorize some movie lines, as though a few hundred other trolls haven't beaten 'em to it. It isn't that my horse is too high, just my hopes. I expect I just set the bar too high for the lowest common denominator. Oops!

dont make sweeping generalizations... you know why this music remains popular ? because it speaks to many people for many different reasons, who are you to judge how someone discovered it ? get off your high horse.
