Like an updated version of Phoebe Snow or Janis Ian.  Wonderful.  Not sure about the video distraction tbh.

Her words always perfectly describe how bone chilling, heart tearing and unearthly way a woman can be! From moving on to a New Romantic to losing one's place in Alas I Cannot Swim. She has taken me to a place where My Manic and I have lived. Where you Don't Ask Me Why. To the bed of where I lay my head Night After Night. She has shown me how to be a Master Hunter and has now pulled me to a place of Soothing!!!! Just a few of her haunting songs...

Sounds like there's a Jun Miyake loop in here ( seemingly uncredited?) just trying to figure out which one. But it's from the 'Pina' soundtrack

This sounds a bit of a change of direction from her previous material.I like it !Maybe a good thing though. Think she has "trodden water " a little since the excellent "I speak because I can " (Blackberry Stone my fav track by her)

Radiohead had a baby with Portishead or early Zero 7 and it turned out way better sounding. Fantastic harmony. Love the bass, strings and the voice is haunting. This is real perfection! Heard it today on the radio and I almost had an accident trying to shazam it. It was worth it :)

the last thing i like doing (at least with company) is to compare artists. i think it's common, and lazy. one must look within the music and find the swirling lines that orbit the linear path of the notes to find the true sound a musician/composer wishes you to find. while making that clear, FUCKIN 'ELLw, this sounds just like fiona apple!
