The song you mention isn't as R&B as her stuff from her first album. I'd like to see her work with someone like Jermaine Dupri. I understand why she doesn't want to do that style of music on the whole, but think it would be cool to see her do it one more time.

I do remember when I first saw her on MTV. I actually thought she was black in the video, "There you go" cuz I got her mixed up with Eve who came out at the same time with the similar look and attitude. Obviously everyone grows up and matures. She does sound different in this interview than she does now.

I don't think she's really trying to sound black here. She sounds the same. I do wish she didn't totally abandon her R&B roots though, she her music was cool then too.

By the time she was promoting her 2nd album she spoke completely differently...and her music sounded totally different. Here I kind of feel like she sounds black and her music sounds black...I know the change in music was deliberate but what about the change in speech?
