I knew the Gatlins way back in the early 70s. Their mother was a teacher at the jr high school that i went to and the sons substitute taught there on ocassion. i knew their music and loved it back when it was popular but never really came to know this particular song in detail. i had heard it in passing and liked it but recently found myself humming it out of nowhere! so i looked it up and it has been soooo on my mind and heart that i've even started trying to learn it on the piano which i havent played in years. it is just the best song i've ever heard! it is written so wonderfully and sang to perfection in this video. the harmonies are pitch perfect and i could listen to it 24/7!! What talent.

Seeing Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brother's live in Mahnomen, MN at the Shooting Star Casino, was one of the most special evening's I've ever had. When they started the opening chords to this beautiful song, my heart raced into my throat, my eyes started stinging with tears, and I let the tears flow... I first heard this song on the radio in south Minneapolis as a young girl. Mom had the 8-track and I would click it four times JUST to get to this song again and again, while I did my Saturday chores after church choir practice. If you EVER get the chance to see them live, DO IT! My heart fills each time I hear their music; there truly is no other singer like Larry Gatlin.

i think I am the only women of color leaving a word about this all to wonderful son and its singer. I do remember the first time I hear it. Didn't really hear the words at that point, just that wonderful voice. A voice that touched my soul. I had just come through a horrible operation, the words, I'VE DONE ENOUGH DYIN, TODAY, helped me decide to live. Thank God for you Mr.Gatlin for recording this beautiful song.IT STILL TOUCHES MY HEART!
