La Difference (Lyrics - Translation)

Translation:

A Different Love

A different love

Unspoken love

A melody engraved within

A circumstance

There are no words

Just human touch

And now and then someone that speaks

To say they're wrong

And yet the skin will never once question the heart

There is a faith that is in love

To save the night

No word is spoken

The skies are open

Two men are in love

No need to proclaim that it ain't the same

That won't stop the doves

If only you could see it too

Somehow someday

Till the stars above can slow the pain

They chose to love

They'll walk on by

And breathe the sight

Of lovers' bloom the ones we paint in fairy tales

There ain't no cure

To lonely roads

No turning back to days of when

A kiss was safe

Although their eyes will never once wander around

Somehow they believe, they succeed

To tell the doves apart

No word is spoken

The skies are open

Two women're in love

No need to proclaim that it ain't the same

That won't stop the doves

If only you could see it too

Somehow someday

Till the stars above can slow the pain

They chose to love

From Verlaine to Rimbaud

Haven't we learned

To embrace, celebrate the special love that's true

Chorus

A different love

There are no words

No words at all...

refrain

De Verlaine à Rimbaud quand on y pense

On tolère l'exceptionnelle différence

refrain

Sorry Rachael if the translation is not good. I just copy and pasted it off of a "lyrics" site. I have no idea if it's correct or not. I only know a little traveler's French to get by. If you have a better translation please post it! Thanks! :)

One of my favourite songs and has been since it came out when I lived in france in 1998-1999. Not sure about some of your english translation, I think you have taken artistic licence which is fine usually except you have changed the meaning a great deal and either mistranslated or deliberately changed the meaning of some of the most important lyrics which Lara specifically chose when she wrote the song. Thanks for posting but please don't change these important words.

star academy. bit like x factor and pop idol but much nicer. the girls and boys who participate live in a house together where they are tutored by music experts and song instructors. this would be on a saturday night for their elimination performances, singing with the stars

la fuerza de lara en sus creaciones e interpretaciones es su entrega total.canta en cuerpo y alma de allí la emocion que provoca , es admirada además por su humanidad que la motiva en su arte a denunciar discriminaciones e injusticias. bravo por ella ,su valentía y vigor ole.Por las dudas soy hetero pero tplerante...betita chilena

I love all your songs ever since I heard you for the first time on the radio about twelve years ago "Love by Grace" I instantly fell in love with that song then I began to listen to all your song even French ones. I dont understand the French but I love your voice and music. But why fo you have to sing controversial song such as this one regarding gay lifestyle? You're a celebrity and should be a good role model. You shouldnt get involve with anything controversial unless you are truly gay.
