Lamont Dozier makes Lou Reed look like a retarded kid at YMCA camp, so why doesn't he have headphones named after him . Singer , songwriter genius w/ numerous hits he wrote for other people and unquestionably one of the best song writers ever black or white .

Colin Curtis Dj'ing in the soul room at the Southport Weekender, somewhere around 1989, three in the morning, when that chorus kicked in the room went absolutely bonkers. A truly amazing record.

I love this, always takes me back... but I never hear it on any of the radio stations unless I ask for it!! I didn't have a huge record collection in those days but this was one of them. Thank you.

Probably the most underrated singer/songwriter of the 1970s. This song absolutely floors me whenever I hear it. Leaving aside Motown and Invictus, Dozier just made so many great albums of his own. This is sublime.
