Laibach - Life is Life

Directed by Daniel Landin

LYRICS:

When we all give the power

We all give the best

Every minute in the hour

We don't think about the rest

And we all get the power

We all get the best

When everyone gives everything

Then everyone everything will get

Life is life!

Life is life

When we all feel the power

Life is life

When we all feel the pain

Life is life

It's the feeling of the people

Life is life

It is the feeling of the land.

When we all give the power

We all give the best

Every minute in the hour

We don't think about the rest

And everyone gives everything

And every soul everyone will feel

Life is life!

And we're all glad it's over

We thought it would last

Every minute of the future

Is a memory of the past

Coz' we gave all the power

We gave all the best

And everyone lost everything

And perished with the rest.

Life is life!

Why Isnt anyone helping????? I just put my hands on my hips so hard whilst posing a Laibach pose that I seriously punched myself in the kidneys. Its the feeling of the land. And every soul, every soul will sear.

I remember laughing so hard at this video when it came out, loved their music but the silliness was too hilarious. Even better he looks dead on like Vlad Tepes.

I see the future in totalitarianism...without it we are cursed to self-destruction. Democracy is just another word for anarchy of rich.

*Totalitarian form without content*One of the aspects of life in totalitarian country is exposure to "totalitarian art", designed to spread official propaganda. In practice, it is easy to develop immunity on that kind of propaganda - most people are unable to react strongly on any art. But if you pay attention, it is indeed, in some moments very powerful. In early 1980's Slovenian (ex Yugoslavia, like Croatia) rock band *Laibach* tried to produce art using totalitarian forms and symbols, but devoid of any (or any typical) content. Idea is, in my opinion, quite shallow - but in some moments, they were successful. Try watching this video (loud!), focus, and see for yourself whether you react on that kind of art.

The costumes, lighting and scenery are straight out of some of Goebel's early propaganda films; a briliant recreation. I found myself getting increasingly angry watching this video for the first time until I recognized the source of it's inspiration. I still get pissed off when I watch it, but the performance is excellent.
