I love hearing the aging voice of Joey. I hope they put out a new album every 5-10 years for decades to come. Long time fan.

"It is inevitable, he becomes OBSOLETE because the things that define himbecome OBSOLETE. These things are part of who he is and now they areirrelevant: TYPEWRITERS, CURSIVE HANDWRITING, DICTIONARIES,ENCYCLOPEDIAS, LANDLINES, OPERATORS, PAYPHONES, MAIL, CONVERSATION, TOUCH, SYMPATHY, EMPATHY, LOVE, PRIVACY..."

Around 1:45 it sounds like a little Descendents/ALL bass. Not too shabby.

Btw, I always had an impression that Lagwagon is actually "holding themselves back" in terms of musical/technical complexity. These last few years, bands like, for example, A Wilhelm Scream or Forus or Strung Out have raised the bar, in my opinion, in terms of technical playing in punk music, creating a so-called "technical punk" subgenre. Lagwagon, on the other hand, did more technical playing back in a day (especially with Derrick on drums) of "Trashed" and "Hoss" and then on the next few albums they somewhat simplified their writing, and then, AGAIN, came back with "Blaze" (in my opinion, their most mature album in terms of playing and song writting) just to remind us that they can kick ass on their instruments any day. :) What I'm trying to say is that I kind of miss those times. I really wish Lagwagon produces one more album like those from back in a day with killer solos and more technical playing. Joey actually said in one of the interviews from 2013. or 2012. (can't remember exactly) that their next album is going to be "very difficult to play", so I kind of expected to hear that on this album.Nevertheless, "Hang" is still a great album and I love it. :)
