I'd love to get this in a half-decent quality on CD : (

Did any of this survive to the final mix?

This mix was not prepared for MIU - no work was done on "LL" for this album. This version was recorded summer 1977 at Brother.

I didn't know that was your band doing the classic Dancing in the Moonlight! What a great song! People who are now griping about the touring band not being the "real" Beach Boys don't realize that guys like you, Bille Hinsche and many others were not only "real' Beach Boys (except by contract, unfortunately) but you contributed great songs, vocals, and production for many years.Thank you!

I like very much the production of MIU album . The songs are not so good, mas the sound of album I think is very good , good drums ,good vocals and arrangements.

Thanks for posting this alternate version. Always loved this song, it gave Al a chance to shine with a beautiful melody. Also - just a note to say thanks to Ron Altbach (who posted above) - enjoyed many years of your playing during the Beach Boys concerts.

Thank you. I love this song. I have the live version from Knebworth (Good Timing) in addition to the studio versions. I tried to get Al to sing it last year in Ridgefield, CT (held up a sign). Bobby Figueroa and Ed Carter were also there as was the late great Michael Maros. (Michael Maros played the intro on the live version on the piano, I think.)

I co-wrote this with Al. We wrote it in Big Sur in 1976 The only BBoys on the vocals are Al and Mike. Bobby Figueroa, Eddie Carter, Eddie Tuleja and I were the back-up vocals. The electric wurlitzer piano was originally the sound my band King Harvest used on Dancing in the Moonlight. So, yes, this was in the same kind of non-bboys production that Al and I did on MIU. And we had a great time doing it. Ron Altbach

You do have a point. And My Diane and Winds of Change are great, but as an album, it just feels unfinished and seems to flow with Mike Love's personality.

Winds Of Change is a really nice song, the harmonies are spot on, thankyou Luxyaltz, for making me listen to a song that i usually skip past : ).

Lot's of people hated it but I actually liked ' winds of change ' on the MIU album .

Aww, C'mon, ok, it's no Love You, but it's not as bad as all that, it's more the production that lets the album down, Wontcha Come Out Tonight, would have been much better, if the backing vocals wer'nt there, and verses of Sweet Sunday are a clone of those on Dont Worry Baby, and Belles Of Paris should have been saved for a B-side, or a Bootleg, but as an album it's not THAT bad, really, Pitter Patter is good

Thank God they waited until L.A. (Light Album) to release it. The MIU Mix totally ruins the song. That album should have been burned.
