La Patrie Etude Demo - Suite Intima Part 1 by Vicente - Classical Guitar video free download

Another gem by the talented and masterful composer Sergi Vicente, Suite Intima is a four-part masterwork of dynamic and romantic classical guitar. This piece is probably the most well-known of the Suite Intima pieces, with its decidedly Spanish sound and intriguing feel.

I paired this piece with some clips of today's Louisville weather...some parts of the song have always reminded me of raindrops falling into puddles. I think the entire piece is rich and sentimental; it illustrates how quickly time passes, and how change is inevitable regardless of our innate desire to struggle against it at all costs.

I hope you enjoy this song and video, and Happy Holidays to all!

There are several things missing from Godin guitars. You won't find any decorative purfling , there are no elaborate inlays, and no fancy price-tags ! These guitars are all about carefully selected materials and excellent quality craftsmanship. This gentleman has shown that a good guitarist doesn't need to take out a second mortgage to get a decent axe and sound terrific!

Very nice playing. It's good to see young people interested in music that requires playing a real instrument and having actual talent among all of the crap out there. Keep up the good playing...

just as in any type music, some pieces sound great and work and some don't,terrega comes to mind, some of the etudes are good some boring and predictable,i know some of the masters of guitar like Segovia stress not so much the piece but how it is played and expressed this cannot be wrote on paper in notes.

@Happydad54 Glad you enjoyed it! It is an MXL 3000 large diaphragm condenser mic, and it's rolled off around 60-80hz in post due to the guitar's booming bass-happy cedar top. This guitar projects incredibly, and was the keeper among the stock that the music store I purchased it from had that day. I've got the mic about three inches from the fretboard at the twelth fret, and added a touch of reverb in my audio editor. Happy Holidays!

Enjoyed it! Thanks! What brand mic are you using and what rolloff settings are you using? About how many inches away fromt the fretboard is the mic sitting?

@fenderamore Hey, thanks for stopping by! These La Patrie guitars are surprisingly well-made and comfortably playable. I've played a few of their different models, and I picked this Etude not because of price, but because of its individual tone -- it trumped the other models at that particular music store by a long shot! Thanks for the support!

Matt! Wonderful playing. I was actually searching for a video of the La Patrie Motif that I found online tonight. Anyway, great selection and keep playing.

@0woldham8 I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'd love to escape the clutches of Louisville myself; hoping one day to move to somewhere in South America where life seems to be much simpler. As for classical guitar teachers in Louisville, well, there still aren't many! I've taught myself everything you're hearing here, with the help and support of the myriad classical guitar books out there today. Hope your holidays are happy as can be! -- Matt

@preTsweet Thank you so much for kind words! I really love all genres of music (except maybe today's pop...icky!), and I love my fans as well! I do have some videos in the works where I'll be singing once again, so stay tuned! All the best -- Matt
