La La is wonderful - her tribute version of River deep, mountain high reminds me how the hairs on the back of my neck rose up when I first heard Ike and Tina Turner's original hit version. Happyman.

Both LaLa and Darlene have unbelieveable voices and range. I believe the disagreements over which version comes down to arrangements. Love's version on Letterman has her voice set apart from the backing vocals/instruments. This version weaves the voice more into the fabric of the music ala Wall of Sound. Personal preferences will always win out, but this version sounds more like the Turner commercial version.
