la dispute has such a complex, beautiful, mind set, and they are all such wallflowers, just their songs, how they write about the people they meet, everyone has a story, and it sort of feels like they are trying to at least try to know that story, we have a past that leads up to who we are today, and its just really mind blowing to hear someone else wanting to share these stories, old memories, etc.

This band are great. I just wish they didn't have so many Myspace attention-whore scene-kid fans. La Dispute are far better and more complex than any of the poser bands with shit hair that you guys all like.

I'm a punk dude, and i cant stand this bands older shit. The spoken wordiness was almost whiny and it stood out too much, the music wasnt 'together'. This album, however, is fucking killer. This whole album has the same sort of raw energy and aggression that gives it a much harder impact and better delivery. I dont doubt their older stuff has the same lyrical quality, these guys have a great writing style. Plus I like the common themes. Hopefully their newer stuff continues to evolve as a band, this rules.

If I could play back every moment to you nowSpent lovesick and swollen onMornings mincing garlic on the counter by the sinkIf I could hit the instant replay on only every good dayWould any of it catch you by surprise? When you say, “something is missing now”That’s what came back to meNormal mornings like that set the knife down and forget where I’d left itMaking breakfastPut coffee on the stove then scour every counter for the knifeDon’t be shyDon’t be kindSomewhere snow collects and bends the boughs of pinesBut doesn’t it seem a bit wasteful to youTo throw away all of the time we spent perfecting our love in close quarters and confines?Isn’t it wasteful? And I am terrified that it doesn’t feel painful to me yetSomewhere on top of the high rise there’s a woman on the edge of a building at the ledgeAnd traffics backing up on 35It’s alrightI will fix whatever is not the sweetness in your eyesJust sit downPleaseSit downHereAt the table and we’ll talkSomewhere televisions light up in the nightI know things weren’t rightMaybe we were never cut out for the Midwest lifeMaybe we’d have done much better on a coastThere are certain things I doubt we’ll ever knowI know you were getting tired of my drinkingI guess I was never cut out for the coke sceneYou were worried I would end up like your father andTired of the smoke and somewhere the wind blowsSomewhere a storm touches down north in HudsonvilleSomewhere the coffee starts to boil on the stove andSomewhere the wind blowsSomewhere the river levels finally getting lowSomewhere I’m up past dawn tillSomewhere you live here stillSomewhere you’re already goneSomewhere a radio is playing in a living roomSays the city lacks the funds to fix the bridgeSomewhere the deer are overrun so they’re introducing wolves back on the ridgeAnd from here in the kitchenI can hear the neighbors in the alley hanging linensAnd the men collect the trash bins in the streetYou’re speaking to me but I can’t understand youThe coffee is burning andAll of the times that we spentThat road trip out westThrough desert for the rest stops the kitsch we both collectThat winter the whole weekend we huddled by the stoveThe cabin I had rentedThe unexpected snowThat visit for ChristmasOn television bingesWe’ll see friends in BrooklynDrive south to RichmondThere’s traffic on the bridgeA woman on the ledgeAnd everywhere the windEVERYTHING IS HAPPENING AT ONCE
