Melanie Thornton- Possibly the BEST pop vocalist to ever live. This rare performance, which is absent of any lip dubbing/lip syncing, shows her pure raw voice (even rather dry in the reverb ) and it sounds incredibly amazing. She truly had a naturally beautiful voice . Her chest resonance was reminiscent of Sarah Vaughan and many of her voicing techniques and articulations reminds me of Chaka Khan in a deeper register. Why they didn't have her sing raw like this more is beyond me!9 years ago
