Kylie Minogue Live Evolution - Put Yourself In My Place

The songs in the set:

02 (Live, 1994, Hey Hey Its Saturday)

03 (Live, 1994, Steve Wright's People Show)

04 (Live, 1994, Prince Harry Trust Rock Gala) (THIS SONG)

04-05 (LaLCS, by DcsabaS, 1994, 1995)

06 (Live, 1995, T in the Park, Glasgow, UK) (MISSING)

07 (Live, 1998, Intimate and Live Tour, Sydney)

08 (Live, 2001, An Audience with Kylie)

09 (Live, 2001, On A Night Like This Tour, Sydney) (MISSING)

10 (Live, 2005, Showgirl Tour)

The siren Kylie made a step further in 1994 :-), at the Prince Harry Concert, singing on the top of a piano (on the left). Later in 2005 she repeated the attraction in the Smash Hits TV show (on the right). I think in this respect these shows were unsurpassable...

It always depends on the circumstances. For Kylie, the primary concern seems to be the (pitch-)perfect singing throughout very long shows (since roughly about the middle of 90s). For a short singing you can take more risks. Some singers always take the risk and fail. Most singers make more glitches in a 3 minute singing than Kylie in two hours... (Or just prefer playback/mime shows - including very famous "singers"!)

Still, I've never seen her doing a live performance of the chorus on full chest voice, as in the studio recording, at all. In Showgirl, she emulates the high tone by going falsetto. On other performances, she lowers the tone dramatically (while doing some pretty enjoyable vocal acrobatics, as in the Fever tour).

In every single song from Kylie she can sing ANY part of the vocals. She likes the chorus-like sound too, but can't sing in the place of everybody AT THE SAME TIME (of course). Therefore in concerts she prefers to bring backing vocalists. In smaller TV shows there are no live band, nor dancers nor backing vocalists. The music with the backing vocals are pre-recorded, and Kylie sings over it. Sometimes she sings together with the backing, sometimes not. As in the case of the studio recording.

Anyone else notice she singing the verses LIVE and miming the chorus's!! Shame, as any Kylie fan will tell you, she is MORE than capable of doing the WHOLE thing Live....
