Why is that I love her earlier hits produced by Stock, Aiken & Waterman but the music videos were downright cheesy and cheap looking? And now the opposite is true after her "Rhythm of Love" album, the videos were cool but I'm not into those songs EXCEPT "Chocolate".Perhaps, I'm nuts fort Stock, Aiken & Waterman music.

That would be right! 1989 was my fave year. I think SAW started to wane in 1990 and the death knell rang in mid 1991 when Aitken left. Pity! 1988 and 1989 were the best. I like Steps and bought most of there stuff but I hardly rarely ever listen to them now. Girls Aloud are better. Biology and Long Hot Summer are ace tracks. Didn't bother with them too much before then. Biology should've been number one.

Yeah! The car video was just a filler. The bathroom one is the real studio promo vid. Have to say Hand On Your Heart is my fave. Camera angles, mirrors, primary colours! cools! lol I missed a lot first time round so TOTP2 was a good filler or reminder for me. I prefer all the 1980's to today's stuff or when I was supposed to be in my hey day teenage years. lol I love mostly all 80's music. Love all the sounds of the time even from acts I usually don't like. Fot me pop is the best.

But Stock/Aitken/Waterman did kind of loose the plot say in 1989 with ever other song in the charts being produced by them and the quality did suffer to a certain degree. But it irresistible pop. Apart from Steps 10-13 years ago, they`ve disappeared from the scene. They`ve possibly made a ton of money from Kylie alone. :)

Sorry about late reply; exhausted from work/didn`t have time for computer till now. Yeah, that vid to Lucky where shes in the car is rubbish, the Lucky vid where shes in the bedroom is much better and funny. TOTP2 is really good but it doesn`t compare to being there at the time it was happening.Growing up in the `80s,being a kid/teenager during that time was amazing & TOTP was just magic. And I loved it all from the punk/new wave to Stock/Aitken/Waterman.

I didn't pay attention to the details at 11. I just enjoyed it and a lot passed me by, but then in 1992 someone presented me with the Guiness Book of British Hit Singles and I never looked back. I realised I loved the 80's, went backwards musically and took in a lot of worthless knowledge. lol Also used to watch a lot Top of the Pops 2. I love all the 1980's style. Well most of it.

The B-side to The Loco-motion is I'll Still Be Loving You. Also from the Kylie album. I know all of Kylie's PWL singles are now for sale on iTunes and features all album tracks scattered on the backs of the singles. Love at First Sight may be on it there. There was a on location vid made for I Should Be So Lucky where she's in a car in Sydney. Played it on TOTP when it was no.1. She was still filming Neighbours at the time so probably couldn't make the show. The Loco-motion was at the studio.

AllAboutEve - that's the one! OMG - You really know your stuff! How do you remember all of this when you were only 11? You mean Kylie *wasn`t* at the TOTP studio, that was recorded in Sydney, really? As far as I know the b-side to Loco-motion was the last song on her 1`st album LoveAtFirstSight , completely different song from her 2002 hit. b-side to Esp4u is also very good. :)

That's right! It was her first time in the studio but she did record on location stuff in Sydney for the show. I remember that too. The Loco-motion was no.2 for 4 weeks in August and Yazz's 5 week no.1 did keep her off the top spot as well as Brother Beyond's The Harder I Try after that. Also a no.2 hit. [I'm getting carried away I think. lol] I think the malfunction performance is All About Eve singing Martha's Harbour [no.10]. The music started but they didn't hear it and didn't mime! Oops!

I actually remember that performance, I think it was Kylies 1st time on TOTP, that right? late July/early August`88 when I was on holidays at my cousins place in London aged 16,it went straight in @ No.2 kept off the top spot by Yazz The Only Way Is Up and I have to say the lyrics to that song about being broke and only having each other and Yazzs voice was incredible.OMG! I just remembered that same night on TOTP there was a malfunction with another performance with a male/female group, name?

lol You're secret's safe with me! Dancing on tables is more fun though. lol Yeah I've got that Gold album. You're right about the vocals. Pity! Production is almost identical to Kylie's. I like Just Can't Wait though. That's on The Hit Factory vol.1 [1987] Just before Kylie. Never seen her live, or anyone. I usally love music videos 1980's mostly] or Top of the Pops performances. The Loco-motion is my most fave TOTP performance of all time of everybody.

Mandy Smith released Got To Be Certain in 1987 (I Just Can`t Wait To See You) but compared to Kylie, her vocals are just horrific! I got Stock/Aitken/Watermans Greatest Hits - Gold a few years ago and MS version of the song was on there, and I was like Wot The..? Did you ever see Kylie live? I never did, but I`ve got all of her live dvds and whenever I put them on, I end up dancing on the chairs and sofa....but lets keep that between ourselves...eh? LOL :)

Thats right. For years, people were saying Whatever I Do was Stock/Aitken/Waterman`s first hit; and I kept on saying No! It was Searchin`, her single before that. But then (when I signed up to youtube), I found out Searchin` was a different producer.Donna Summer did an amazing job with This Time Know Real and really showed off her incredible vocals and that she wasn`t an overproduced product of I Feel Love.I was 16/17 in 1988 and (you`ve guessed it) had a secret crush on Kylie. :)

Well that was considerate of Kyles thinking of her fans pocket money. I didn't have any then. Apart from a second hand Five Star's Luxury of Life album given to me by someone, my first album was Enjoy Yourself. Brilliant! That was from Santa! lol

I love that saying about the fish n chips. That's a cracker. She had another one which was "If you wanna make God laugh, tell him your plans!". lol I was 11 in 1988 and it was a great year. Donna Summer's This Time I Know It's For Real almost went to Bananarama but they turned it down cos they thought it was too popular. Donna added lyrics later. Hazell Dean's Searchin' [no.6] wasn't SAW. Well that was considerate of Kyles thinking of her fans pocket money.

Continued..their precious pocket money on it when they already had the song on the album they just got from Santa. Almost 26 years since Lucky, and shes still going strong. The thing I learnt most from Kylie at the beginning of her career is when asked about all the bad press she was getting, she said "Todays papers wrap tomorrows fish & chips"; and her saying that ringing in my ears over the years has gotten me through my shit - forget it and carry on regardless, tomorrows a new day. :)

Yeah, Turn It Into Love was recorded by Hazel Dean - Searchin`, Whatever I Do (wherever I go), Whos Leaving Who (also with Stock/Aitken/Waterman) who had a minor hit with it late `88. Yeah; at the end of `88, Kylie had a huge fan base mainly made-up of young kids ...and one 17 year old boy (if only my hardy boy AC/DC crazed classmates knew LOL) and I remember at the time she was very concerned not to exploit them by releasing a 5th single from the album and they spending their precious pocket...

Wow! Really! Didn't know that about Hand on You Heart. My fave song too. It's No Secret was a no.37 hit in the US in early 1989. It would've done well in the charts here if released,.. as would have Turn It Into Love. [Japanese number one] Didn't know she actually had a say about her music back then.
