I remember that KRS-One put this out right before Nelly released one of his highest selling albums(Nellyville??), and any true hip hop fan knows that Krs-One DESTROYED Nelly with this song, but by 2002 hip hop(music in general) was in the early stages of becoming the GARBAGE that we see nowadays. So even though Nelly got roasted on this song, it didn't affect his career at all because the younger fans had been brainwashed into thinking that lyricism and having a good message in a song isn't important!! Also, KRS-One was either ignored by mainstream outlets or called a hater and old by them, so this song didn't damage Nelly's career at all, even though it should have. If this KRS One-Nelly beef happened in the 1980's or 1990's, it would've destroyed Nelly's career.
