TAYLOR ROAD - the new album due 16th January 2015

Together with long term musical partner, producer and friend Thomas Hannes, Kris decided to record a 1970s rock album – pushing his blues style as far into rock territory as possible.

A studio band consisting of Dennis Bowens (Bass) and Daniel Guthausen (Drums, Ex-Henrik-Freischlader) was assembled and recorded 11 songs during 2014. ‘Taylor Road’ was born partly from old demos, riffs and song ideas that Kris wrote during his time as frontman in the Kris Pohlmann Band. These songs and newly written ones make up an album that has given Kris new motivation and inspiration.

“Taylor Road, is the place where my musical journey began. When I was 15 years old my world centred around the music of Status Quo, ZZ Top, Free & Cream. It was rock music that first inspired me to start playing guitar. This album is my homage to that period of musical discovery. Straight up blues infused rock music. Heavy rhythms, guitar riffs and big solos.”

Yes, agreeing with the 'Chris Rea meets ZZ Top' notion ;-)
