One of my top favorite songs of Kris... So I decided to take the chance and make a video before a re-upload instead of just a still image and the song as I did with the first one :-)

Most of the scenes are from a documentary on Kris and from Cisco Pike, but two tiny scenes are from Blume in love and one is from A star is born...

With a Junkie and a Juicehead who had problems of their own

Then the Junkie placed an order with the prophet on the corner

And writin' songs for no one but myself and the juicehead", who said,

Well I drank the whole thing over puttin' one and two together

And it added up to more of what I didn't want to be

I ain't blamin' Music City but it's only gonna see me

One more workday and a wake up and the time it takes to leave

'cause I got a dirty picture of what could have been my future

In a Prophet pushin' day dreams on a corner for a fee

And a wino lookin' lonely at a bottle gettin' empty

And a hungry lookin' junkie huntin' tea and sympathy

And I bet that junkie's laughin' at the life he threw away

Ich stolperte die Gehwege der neonfarbenen Musikstadt entlang,

mit dem Junkie und dem Suffkopf, die ihre eigenen Probleme hatten.

Mit dem Glück am Hals, das mich grad mal eine Stufe vom Hungern fernhielt,

und etwas Talent, das ich schwor noch zu zeigen, bevor ich zurück nach Hause gehen würde.

Seit achtzig Tage raus aus der Armee, hab ich weder Liebe noch Geld gemacht,

und meine einzige Garnitur Klamotten kam meinen Knochen immer näher.

Dann gab der Junkie beim Dealer an der Ecke seine Bestellung ab,

während er uns von der Seele erzählte, die er für einen Song verkauft hat.

Er sagte, „Meine Chance war meine Zukunft, aber ich ließ sie entschlüpfen

während ich mich langsam an 80 Zigaretten am Tag kaputt rauche

und herausfinde, dass Verbrechen nicht alles ist, was sich nicht auszahlt

und Songs schreib für niemanden außer für mich selbst und den Suffkopf", der sagte,

„Ja, ich kann mein Schicksal im Boden eines Glases lesen

Und ich kann sagen, es ist Zeit für mich, meinen letzten Wunsch zu äußern:

Werdet ihr mein Grab mit Whiskey füllen, wenn ich zur letzten Ruhe gelegt werde

So können die Jungs sagen, ich trank meinen Weg zur Hölle."

Also, ich übertrank die Sache nochmal und zählte eins und zwei zusammen

Und es fügte sich zu mehr von dem zusammen, was ich nicht sein wollte.

Ich geb nicht der Musikstadt die Schuld, aber sie wird mich nur noch

einen Arbeitstag und einmal aufwachen sehen und die Zeit, die ich brauche, um zu verschwinden.

Weil ich ein schmutziges Bild habe von dem, was meine Zukunft sein könnte

in von einem Dealer an einer Ecke gegen eine Gebühr angeschobenen Tagträumen.

Und der Suffkopf schaut ganz einsam auf eine leer werdende Flasche

und einen hungrig aussehenden Junkie, der nach günstigem Stoff jagt.

Und ich wette, der Junkie lacht über das Leben, das er weggeworfen hat

Während er sich kaputt raucht an 80 Zigaretten am Tag

Und den Dealer anfleht um einem Preis, den er bezahlen kann

Und Wörter schreibt, die niemand sehen wird, außer der Suffkopf, der es sagte:

Jede leere Flasche ist seine private Kristallkugel

wo er in die Zukunft starrt und überhaupt nichts dort findet.

Das ist alles, was ich morgen vermissen werde, wenn die Neonschatten fallen

auf den Junkie und den Suffkopf ohne mich.
