This song was written by Tom Ghent

Kris also cut it for his solo album "Shake hands with the devil" (1979)

I already made and uploaded this vid in 2009, could have chosen some better pics for the re-upload but just didn't want to change my original :-)

I thought KK did a great solo of this song, and he did. But, add Rita Coolidge and it's that much better. Many thanks to Rita Coolidge and Kris Kristofferson!

Gotta say I like this way better than the solo version. From the saloon soundin' piano at the start it just has more... sincerity I guess.

i wonder if he ever mentioned the hotel they stayed in amsterdam (i think) that haunted all of the band according to rita on the one night they stayed there and then found out it had been invaded by natzi's in world war 2, she said that kris just went to sleep after staying after hours it was one of the most interesting ones i had seen...

They were my favorite couple and it is sad that they did not remain together, They were a beautiful perfect example of how wonderful life is when you find the one true love .

Well, if you didn't know about them - I have just added the links to them to the info box of the song.

Hi Sylvia... yep, most of his albums are only available on the internet... but at least, they are. There were new releases of his Monument albums from 1972 to 1981 - other than the first two ones that have been constantately available. The other 8 albums were released as double album CDs, Jesus was a capricorn and Borderlord are together on one. You can find links to this CD to my "Kiss the world goodbye" vid. I can't put a link in here...

Yes, I have the cd, and will think about it :-) I also have two album versions - from Kris' Jesus was a capricorn album (1972) and another one from a Highwaymen compilation album... which do you like best?
