I have always loved this solo and assumed the Hound Dog played it, but now I find out that Mr Brewer is the soloist. As Hound Dog would say "Well let's get funky Mr Brewer"

you turn the bass to zero you turn the mid to zero, you turn the treble to 10 and you put the lead pickup on full volume and tone up and you turn the amp volume to ten and the reverb to three... and then you just ice pick 'em!

I don't mean to argue. But what made them both I'n my mind as very significant Blues masters was they were both not even Blues straight. They played across each other and chords. But it worked. I've years ago played them to to so called Blues guys and they did not get it. Years later , they go, yeah Cool Man!

Yes, and this why it is called "Brewer's Rock" not The Hound. I agree that as much as I love The Hound, Brewer was a major of the whole sound!

I can just picture Mr. Phillips tearin' it up while kickin' his foot up in the air, while Hound Dog beats out the bass lines ,stompin along with the groove. Great pics to go along with this too, lots of familiar faces.Thanx much for posting.
